General Life Lessons Littles Motherhood

Just call me BOSS

Yep, I am going to officially claim the title of boss or CMO. I mean I’ve already held it for a solid 9 years so why not embrace it. Let me elaborate starting with a few questions.

Why are some days really hard and some days really delightful? What makes the difference? What is wrong with my children that they can’t seem to hold it together today?!?

I have asked myself these questions countless times, especially on the really hard days. The days when my kids are melting down or full of all sorts of saltiness in their hearts and minds. The answer that keeps coming to me is a reflection back, what is the condition of my heart? What is the lens I am seeing my day through? Is my heart just as saucy and salty as theirs?

Then the realization hit me. While I am not in control of their hearts, minds and emotions my attitude does seem to lead theirs. I am the Chief Mood Officer. I set the tone e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y. So how do I fix the saltiness in my kids?

First, fix my own poor heart and attitude. They need to see me looking to Jesus for his hope, peace and joy not allowing their defiance, poor attitudes, life circumstances and the world to steal it all away. It’s a process but thankfully I was given another day to try and look to Jesus more.
