About Me

When I was younger I had all sorts of ideas and plans about what my life would look like, the type of man I would marry, how many kids I would have, what I would do with my life.

Today, I look back and chuckle at the younger Kim who made silly bold declarations of “When I’m married (or a mom)…” or better yet “I will never.” Not everything has worked according to my plans, but the more road under my feet I can see the good and beauty in it and have a deep appreciation for all the good and growth I’ve been allowed to experience.

My husband Mike and I met in Haiti following the earthquake in 2010 while working with The Global Orphan Project, an awesome organization whose mission is to serve orphans around the world. If you haven’t heard of them, you should check them out.

Since then it’s been a crazy ride which has very few, if any, dull moments. Shortly after marrying Mike, I returned to school to get my masters in counseling and became a licensed counselor. Today, I am taking a break from seeing clients as I am learning how to be a better wife to Mike and support him in all the business ventures he dreams up, a better mom and teacher to our four crazy kiddos and a better daughter, sister, friend.

My hope is that you will find some inspiration, some encouragement, and maybe even some of the same healing I’ve found as I recount the stories of my life, struggles in marriage and motherhood and dreams about the future.
